The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop is for those who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.
ASIST Participants will learn to:
- Recognize invitations for help
- Reach out and offer support
- Review the risk of suicide
- Apply a suicide intervention mode
- Link people with community resources

Participants will be expected to arrive on time and stay the entire training time – If you cannot commit to attending BOTH DAYS, please watch for future trainings.
Snacks will be provided, however lunch will be on your own both days. A refrigerator and microwave are available to participants who wish to bring their own lunch.

Is this class right for me?
This class can be very heavy due to the nature of the training. The scenarios and role playing can be triggering, especially for those who have experienced a recent traumatic event. Since we want all of our participants to feel comfortable, please be mindful of where you are in your healing process to determine if this class is right for you at this time. If you have questions please feel free to contact the organizer. This class is intended to teach participants how to intervene with a suicide crisis.
